Mos Espa (Ong Jemel)

The set of Mos Espa, Anakin Skywalker's hometown in "The Phantom Menace", still stands among the dunes near Ong Jemel rock, also known as the Camel's Neck.

History

Built in 1997 for "Episode I", the set was reused for "Attack of the Clones".

Customs

Go with a 4x4 driver, the track crosses soft sand.

Food

Bring water. Sellers at the set offer mint tea and roasted almonds.

Sunrise or sunset, when the dunes turn orange.

Tatooine, Luke Skywalker's home planet, is named after the real town of Tataouine in southern Tunisia.
