Two low sandy islands about 18 km off Monastir, with clear shallow water. They are the main nesting site of the loggerhead turtle in Tunisia, and part of the islands is protected.

History
The islands have no permanent inhabitants apart from a lighthouse and a monitoring station.
Customs
Go with a boat that respects the rules: no lights or noise near the nesting beaches, and keep off fenced areas.
Food
Boat trips usually include a grilled fish lunch.
Best time
June to September, when boats run from Monastir.
In summer, volunteers watch the nests at night and help the hatchlings reach the sea.
