In the centre of Gafsa, two deep stone basins built by the Romans are still filled by a warm spring. Next to them stand the kasbah and the old town, gateway to the oases of the south-west.

History
Ancient Capsa was a Numidian town before Rome. It also gave its name to the Capsian culture of prehistory.
Customs
Swimming in the basins is not for visitors. A small museum stands next to the pools.
Food

Best time
